There was a particular kind of quiet in the world that year. Borders had closed, plans had scattered, and yet here — tucked into the hills of Wuomin, Puli — a wedding was still being built from nothing, one careful decision at a time.
Sevian and Alice’s celebration was only the second wedding ever held at The Bal’e Villas. The venue itself was still finding its voice, and there was something fitting in that — two people beginning a marriage in a space that was, in its own way, also just beginning. Nothing here had been done a hundred times before. Every detail felt considered, deliberate, a little braver for the uncertainty surrounding it.
At the door, the games began — the traditional gauntlet the groom must pass before he’s allowed to claim his bride. Challenge after challenge, laughter rising each time. No two rounds ever look the same in photographs. Underneath the jokes is something quite tender — family and friends, in the most direct way they know, making sure this next step is not taken alone.
Against the backdrop of a year that asked so much of everyone, Sevian and Alice chose to move forward anyway. Not despite the difficulty, but through it. The hills of Wuomin gave them stillness and space; their families gave them noise and blessing; and somewhere between the two, a wedding day took shape that neither the venue nor the world around it will forget.
