This was truly one of the most uniquely charming weddings I’ve had the pleasure of photographing recently—set right directly across from the iconic Taipei 101.
Monica is the sister of a past bride of mine, so having met several times over the years, we felt like old friends. Having returned from the US, Terry and Monica came to me with a brief that was both simple and distinct: they wanted something convenient, low-key, yet completely unique. Their solution? A rooftop pool wedding at their own residential building.
For them, a wedding wasn’t about rigid traditions; it was all about enjoying quality time with family and close friends. When we discussed preparations, Monica casually laughed, “Don’t worry about it! I’m super easygoing.” It took us just 20 minutes to walk through their venue before they turned to me and said, “We leave the photography entirely in your hands. We trust you 100%.”
There was one hilarious moment on the day of the wedding. Monica’s dad warmly suggested, “You can shoot the First Look downstairs by the main entrance!” Only one problem—the entrance sat right next to a busy MRT subway exit! I asked Terry what he envisioned for their First Look, and he cheekily replied, “I like a bit more green… oh, and I get hot easily, so I probably can’t last too long out there.”
“Give me five minutes,” I replied.
Walking down to the street level, my mind was initially a total blank. How could I create refined, romantic portraits right beside a bustling subway station? As always, I relied on my instincts as a photographer. I walked a quick lap, and just when I was pondering, a hidden gem caught my eye—a quiet corner with beautiful backlit sunlight, lush greenery, and zero subway crowd in the frame.
“Yes! This is it! The perfect shooting spot!”
Having captured weddings of all shapes and sizes, I’ve learned that weddings powered by good spirits and pure ease always yield the most captivating imagery. Perfection isn’t something you need to force; when people are relaxed, their effortless charm naturally radiates.
It wasn’t a lavish, grand production, but it was brimming with genuine warmth, laughter, and personal connection. Monica’s parents kept chatting with me about our journey over the years—having now photographed two family weddings. That, to me, is the true heart of my work: using photography not just to capture beauty, but to connect deeply with people.

這是我近期拍攝過極具巧思且令人印象深刻的一場婚禮——地點，就在台北 101 的正對面。
新娘是多年前我拍攝過的新娘的妹妹，因為過去在不同婚禮上的相遇，我們早已像老朋友般熟悉。這次，從美國回來的他們給了我一個非常特別的企劃：他們想要一場簡單、便利卻又獨一無二的婚禮。最終，他們選擇在自家大樓頂樓的泳池畔，舉辦這場專屬於他們的親密派對。
對 Terry 與 Monica 而言，婚禮的本質就是與最愛的親友們 shared great times。新娘笑著說：「沒關係啦，我很隨意的！」記得當初我們只花了二十分鐘看過現場環境，他們就笑著對我說：「婚禮就交給你啦，我們絕對相信你。」
婚禮當天有個非常有趣的插曲。新娘的爸爸熱情地建議 First Look 可以去一樓門口拍——但「好傢伙」，一樓門口正挨著熙熙攘攘的捷運站出口啊！我轉頭問新郎 Terry 對 First Look 有什麼想法，他幽默地說：「我喜歡綠色多一點，對了，我怕熱，可能撐不了太久（笑）。」
「給我五分鐘！」我說。
走進捷運站旁的街道時，我腦子裡其實是一片空白。該如何在嘈雜都市與捷運站旁找尋質感？始終，我都非常依賴身為攝影師的直覺。我繞了一圈，就在煩惱之際，眼前突然亮起了一個絕佳的角落——光線錯落間有清透的逆光、有一抹舒心的綠意，而且完美避開了捷運站口。
「對！就是它了！最好的 Shooting Spot！」
我拍攝過無數種形式的婚禮，而帶著「好心情」與「鬆弛感」的婚禮，往往最能展現出動人的張力。不必刻意追求完美的擺拍，因為當人們全然放鬆、享受當下時，那份自然散發的魅力就足以撼動人心。
這不是一場繁複盛大的巨型婚禮，卻是一場充滿人情味與歡笑的真摯聚會。新娘的父母不斷和我寒暄，聊著我們這幾年因為攝影而牽起的緣分。我想，這正是攝影最吸引我的地方——用鏡頭記錄美好，也用真誠與人深情交流。
